Director of Accounting

The Director of Accounting at Zobrio plays an integral part in developing and maintaining our accounting and financial processes, as well as reporting. The qualified candidate must be passionate and demonstrate our Core Values: Excellence, Integrity, Leadership and Listening.

ROLES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Accounting reports directly to the CEO. The essential duties for this hands-on role are as follows:

  • Manage monthly close process
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
  • Prepare monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts
  • Financial modeling
  • Ad-hoc accounting analysis and reporting
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and revenue recognition of deferred revenue
  • Cash management including check and ACH processing
  • Process monthly payroll
  • Prepare and manage monthly commissions
  • Human resource management with PEO
  • Manage 401K plan with third party and process monthly contributions
  • Project creation and maintenance
  • Time and expense approval
  • Prepare, review and approve client billings
  • Supervise and provide guidance to the general office assistant regarding accounts payable, accounts receivable and related collection process
  • Vendor management and accounts payable processing
  • Cash management including check and ACH processing
  • Prepare sales and use tax returns
  • Prepare and provide financial information required for external corporate tax return
  • Prepare personal property tax declarations
  • Manage state business and tax registrations
  • Collect and provide information for annual insurance renewals and annual insurance audits
  • Prepare filing of year-end 1099 forms
  • Maintain working knowledge of the accounting process from purchasing, time entry, AR/AP, through to financial results
  • Evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned
  • Participate in Quarterly Board Meetings

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
  • A CPA license is preferred, but no required
  • Five (5) years of hands-on accounting experience is strongly preferred
  • Must maintain a professional appearance
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
  • Must be trustworthy and able to maintain confidential information
  • Must be responsible and reliable
  • Excellent problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills, with both written and oral communication
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and planning
  • Effective time management
  • Requires a strong ability to multi-task and flexibility to learn and accept other duties
  • Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills
  • Strong math skills and confidence when working with numbers
  • Excellent computer skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft-based programs
  • Prior experience with NetSuite ERP is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers’ core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business and maintain sound relationships among the employees
